THE ANT AND THE DOVE - FREE PRINTABLE AESOP FABLE

 THE ANT AND THE DOVE

On a hot day of summer, an ant was searching for some water.
After walking around for some time, she came near the river.
To drink the water, she climbed up on a small rock.
While trying to drink a water, she slipped and fell into the river.

There was a dove sitting on a branch of a tree who saw
an ant falling into the river.
The dove quickly plucked a leaf and dropped it into the
river near the struggling ant. The ant moved towards
the leaf and climbed up onto it.
Soon, the leaf drifted to dry ground,
and the ant jumped out. She looked up
to the tree and thanked the dove.

The fox and the grapes SHORT STORY - AESOP FABLES FREE PRINTABLE

 The fox and the grapes

Once upon a time, a fox was strolling in the “Sundervan”

forest someplace in Asia on a hot afternoon.

After strolling alone for a while, he got hungry.

Soon, he reached a lush green garden with beautiful

trees and flowering plants. Then, he abruptly noticed

a sizable bunch of grapes on a grapevine.

A luscious bunch of grapes suspended from a

tree limb made him drool. The fox’s mouth watered

as he peered longingly at the grapes, which appeared

ready to burst with juice.

The thirsty fox exclaimed, “Wow, the grapes look so juicy!

They seem ready to be eaten.” The fox wanted to eat

them since he was so hungry and thirsty.

The grapes were high, yet the fox jumped up with full

force and confidence. He backed up a bit before

running and jumping to reach the grapes.

The first time he jumped, he missed it by a long way.

After that, he was not even close to being able to touch them.

The ant and the grasshopper SHORT STORY - FREE PRINTABLE

One bright day in late autumn a family of Ants were bustling about in the

warm sunshine, drying out the grain they had stored up during the summer,

when a starving Grasshopper, his fiddle under his arm, came up

and humbly begged for a bite to eat.

“What!” cried the Ants in surprise,

“haven’t you stored anything away for the winter?

What in the world were you doing all last summer?”
